So I haven't left for South Africa yet, but I'm leaving Monday the 3rd. I can't tell you how excited I am for this... Since freshman year I have wanted to go to SA and when I found out my dad was up for this project I told him I would call his boss if I had to to get him on this project, I did nothing of the sorts obviously but I really wanted to. I found out that he got the job a few days after my 18th birthday and needless to say it was the best birthday present I have ever received in my entire life.
As for this blog, I hope to update every Friday about my week. And I say hope because SA if just now coming into the idea of high speed Internet... so think dial up, and then think before dial up ( I don't think I was born then?) and you'll get the idea. Basically I'll just be updating the world about my life and the adventures I go on and possibly the pet elephant I might be getting, only kidding, but I can dream right? It just seems like an easier and quicker way than posting to each person on facebook and since I won't have a phone with Internet, or even a phone at all, or quick Internet there will be no such thing as a tweet in my life.
But! I will be learning Dutch so that should keep things spicy in my life along with the turns about the room during tea time whilst I become well versed in poetry...
I need to stop reading Jane Austen novels...
